By now you know that, in order to make money online, you need to have a good website. Then next logical thought is you’ll need to people to actually find your site. So the term you always see for your site’s visitors is “traffic.” It’s a numbers game, more traffic equals more sales – generally speaking. Naturally, all IM marketers are in it to make money, so making as much as possible is the end-game. Ok, let’s move onto how you can make those traffic stats look impressive.

It’s a good idea to submit your site to the secondary search engines, but avoid doing that with the major search engines using their submission form. The fastest way to get your site indexed in Google, or Bing, is using Web 2.0 strategies. It will take several hours to manually submit to the smaller engines – and it’s not 100% necessary, either. The reason for doing this is the major search engines will view those backlinks, which they’ll be, as a sign of more popularity, plus you’ll get added traffic from them. You may or may not know that it’s possible to get backlinks in many ways, also – some count more than others in terms of backlink “weight.” But the name of the game is “natural,” or appearing to be natural to Google, so having a variety of backlink sources will only help you in the eyes of the major search engines.

One fast way to create traffic is by buying PPC traffic.

These can be made relatively inexpensively. If you word your ads carefully and creatively, you can get quite a few new visitors through these pay per click campaigns.

You may want to try Google Adwords, which can probably get you the most traffic. If you know what you’re doing, you can get huge amounts of traffic with Adwords and similar services. Remember, you want your ad to be entertaining and enticing so that people will click on it!

You should try to take advantage of offline marketing, as well. Never discount the power of this form of advertising for websites. A well constructed classified ad has the potential to bring you hordes of targeted traffic. You can use giveaway items in offline stores if they’ll let you do it. Marketing in offline venues will reach an audience of people who may not be used to IM techniques, so that could help you with sales.

A lot of people think they can side-step the work part when it comes to generating cash online. You will have to put some work into it, some effort… but it’s not like hard labor, or anything. With a little bit of effort and time you could be driving thousands of new visitors to your websites and products. So just start taking action and you’ll see great results.
